This young family was the recipients of a free photo session I donated to a local Seattle fundraising event called the Adventure Race For Parkinson’s. This first annual foot race had teams, some dressed-up in costumes, searching for clues in various Ballard locales. The scavenger hunt aspect also incorporated a bit of the Amazing Race, where teams run into roadblocks they need to overcome to get points and move on to the next clue as quickly as possible. All proceeds from this fantastic event went to the Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation. Their mission is to establish optimal quality of life for the Northwest Parkinson’s Community through awareness, education, advocacy, and care. They also provide a peer-to-peer support network for people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers. Please click on the NWPF link above to learn more or make a donation. If you are interested in participating in the race, another adventure race is scheduled for this Spring, 2015! Please click on the Adventure Race link above to learn more, donate, and register. I’ll be there!
In planning the session, we decided to meet at Volunteer Park one Saturday morning and have a play date of sorts. The whole family was on board with cuddling, playing, and tickling and were naturals in front of the camera. I loved that they also included a few activities they normally engage in together, like riding a balance bike and a family sword fight! (This is the first sword fight I’ve photographed.) 🙂 We had a great time and I’m happy I could contribute to a good cause this way. Thanks for looking.
