This was my first time meeting Ana, their one year old (for family photographs).  She had the most beautiful blue eyes, and couldn’t take her eyes off what her big sister was doing.  We met on a beautiful sunny September morning at Carkeek park and played for an hour.  Carkeek is one of my favorite beaches for family photography in Seattle due to its size, diversity, and location.  It’s pretty much in town but when you get there you feel like you’re a world away.

Interesting fact:  this was the first family I used film with back a few years ago when their oldest was the same age – 1.  It’s weird to think back on that and how I was really nervous about whether or not the few rolls turned out, and to now know there’s simply no other way for me to shoot.  I am smitten just like they are. 🙂
