3-Step Social Media Batching for Photographers with Notion & Later

Struggling to Keep Up with Social Media? This 3-Step Batching System Will Save You Hours!

Today I want to share a tutorial on my 3-Step Social Media Batching for Photographers with Notion & Later. Social media can feel like a full-time job—especially when you’re juggling client sessions, editing, and, you know, life. But what if I told you that you could plan weeks of content in just a few hours? Enter: my 3-step social media batching system using Notion and Later.com.

I’ve been using this method for a couple years, and it has completely changed the game for me. Here’s exactly how I do it.

Step 1: Plan Your Content in Notion

Before you even think about scheduling posts, you need a solid plan. This is where Notion comes in. Think of it as your digital content brain.

How I Organize My Content in Notion:

  • I create a database with different content pillars (e.g., family sessions, newborns, photography tips, behind-the-scenes, etc.).
  • Each post idea gets stored as a separate entry with the caption written out.
  • I use Notion’s calendar view to map out when each post will go live.

Once my content is written and categorized, I copy and paste the captions into Later.com. Which brings me to…

Step 2: Schedule Your Content in Later.com

What’s next in my 3-Step Social Media Batching for Photographers with Notion & Later? Now that you have a bank of ready-to-go content, scheduling is a breeze. Later.com allows me to visually plan my posts across multiple platforms—Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and even LinkedIn.

How I Batch Schedule in Later:

  • I upload all my edited images to Later’s media library.
  • Alternatively, I use Canva to create graphics for carousel posts and upload them to Later.
  • I use the monthly calendar view to drag and drop posts into my schedule.
  • I paste the captions from Notion, tweak them if needed, and add relevant hashtags.
  • Hit “schedule” and let Later take care of the rest!

Step 3: Repeat on a Monthly or Bi-Weekly Basis

The key to consistency is making this a habit. I recommend batching your content every two weeks or once a month. Set aside a dedicated block of time, and soon, social media won’t feel like a never-ending task.

Pro Tip: Repurpose your best-performing posts! Not every piece of content needs to be brand new. If a post did well last month, tweak it slightly and repost it.
