In honor of Father’s Day | Kim’s favorite father/child portraits | Seattle portrait photographer

”A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty.”

– Unknown

”When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”

-Mark Twain

”A man never stands as tall as when he kneels to help a child.”

-Knights of Pythagoras

”It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us fathers and sons.”

-Johann Schiller

”A dad is someone who wants to catch you before you fall but instead picks you up, brushes you off, and lets you try again.”

–Anonymous

”Becoming a father is easy enough, but being one can be very rough.”

-Wilhelm Busch quotes.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with some truly amazing dads the past few months.  To see the bonds they have with their kids and help document this time in their lives is truly a blessing.  Dads of this generation are being pulled in so many directions and have never been more involved in raising their children.  Its apparent in these photos.  Happy Father’s Day to all you fantastic dads out there!  You are very much appreciated!

And finally,

”Fatherhood is pretending the present you love the most is soap-on-a-rope.”

- Bill Cosby

vibrant outdoor maternity session in Seattle’s green fields, moss, and trees

I can’t believe this was my first outdoor maternity session.  Ever.  I’ve been wanting to do this for a few years but have had no takers!  Seattleites, embrace the weather, I tell ya!  There’s nothing to fear!

There is just something about outdoor backgrounds.  They make me giddy.  I see potential backdrops everywhere with patterns and light.  Just like I did with this session.  I didn’t want to stop taking photos of this future mama and her husband.  Seriously.  You can ask her.

I can’t wait to meet their new baby bundle of joy this week for our newborn session!  Hopefully I can convince mama to bring him outdoors for some natural, colorful newborn photographs to match these.

Call me if you are interested in booking a session like this!
